Scuba Dive at Utwa Reef |

This was the second day of SCUBA Diving on Kosrae. The weather
had picked up and the surface conditions become rough on the way
from the Utwa Boat Harbor to the dive site. During the dive, a
replacement
Mooring Buoy was secured to a reef anchor in support of the very
successful
Mooring Buoy Reef Program that protects the reef from loose boat anchors.
The surface conditions became worse during the dive and we had to cancel
the second dive. The Kosrae Village Resort catamaran boats easily
brought us back to the boat harbor in six to 8 foot swells.
Despite the rough surface conditions, the visibility on t he reef
remained very clear. The weather front quickly made its way across
the island and the surface conditions were dive ready by the next day. Photographic equipment and film used during this dive:
