4 of 9. The Molokini Crater is the remnants of a volcanic cone that was last active about 230,000 years ago. Molokini Crater is an extension of the Haleakala southwest rift zone during a volcanic rejuvenation phase. It was considered to be a recent eruption, but the 230,000 year age suggests that Molokini could predate Haleakala.
