3 of 5. Volcano National Park is the home of Kilauea Volcano that is the most active volcano on earth. Kilauea has been erupting continuously since 1983. During this time, over 200 buildings have been destroyed to include the village of Kalapana and hundreds of acres have been added to the Island of Hawaii. Scientist see no signs of a the eruption decreasing as Kilauea continues to increase the size of the island. It also makes good business since the tourist flock by the thousands to watch the eruption.
